Pumped up about PBIS! **FREE POSTERS**

Happy Wednesday!

So I was planning on telling ten facts about me and show off my classroom this week, but things are not ready yet. When my classroom doesn't look like it has gotten hit by Sharknado, I will show it off. Hopefully I will be done next week. **Fingers Crossed** School doesn't start till Sept. 3rd, but the Future Mister is a Best Man in a wedding not in our town the weekend before school starts, so I need to have everything ready before that!

Yesterday, as I was looking at all the beautiful classrooms and being super jealous of all the storage and organized wonderfulness of the classrooms, I came across Ginger's Blog. She posted a picture of these super awesome PBIS Posters:

Aren't they beautiful. Well, those are not the rules my school has for PBIS, so I needed to make my own. Here was what I came up with:

I love them and can't wait to hang them up in my classroom. I have made these free, so if you have the same PBIS rules or just want these reminders for your kids. Click the picture to download!

Enjoy the day!

Twisted Tuesday and 15 Students!!

I have internet again!! :) Last week, I was so frustrated with my fiance's SUPER SLOW, like it takes 3 mins to load a page slow, and so I called Century Link to speed it up. Well, when they were doing their work they didn't connect something right, so I have been without internet at our house since last Thursday. It has been awful! I was so happy after my walk this morning that it was all fixed. Can I get a hallelujah? :)

Since, I have not had internet I have been spending a lot of time with my puppy and my family. It has been so great to get these last few weeks of time with them! Last night a bunch of my fiance and I's friends came over for a game night. It was great to see everyone!

Yesterday, I brought my Fiance to come and see my classroom. The past two years, we have been doing the long distance thing, so it was great to have him come and help. I had a stack of laminating to cut out, so I put him to work. Then, when our IT person came to bring me my IPad, he fixed my broken lap. What a sweetie! Here is a picture of him working his butt off:

Talking about Ipad, I am so excited! I have never had one before, so I feel like a little kid playing with a new toy. We get around 5 for our class to use, and then there is a cart if we want to do a whole class thing. If you have any great Ipad suggestions let me know. I would love to hear them.

At the end of last school year, the Kindergarten team put together our class list for this year. Each 1st grade classroom had 17, well today we got an updated class list and I only have 15!  I am so excited to have a little class, and to be able to connect better with each and every little face! My first year teaching, I had around 13-15 in my classroom, and last year I had 23. The small size was so wonderful. I felt like I always got time for each kiddo, and was able to do so much more.

Okay this post has been all over the place. I am just starting to plan for the start of school so stay tuned! We don't start till after Labor Day, so I am soaking up the end of summer. On Thursday and Friday though, I am going to a PBIS training. I think it will be great to hear all the great insite from this training.

Have a super Tuesday!

Currently August!

I am linking up with Farley for this months Currently! I can't wait to see what everyone puts! :)

Both my fiance and I are obsessed with House Hunters. I am not so keen on House Hunters International, but I will still watch it.

Loving: Having a puppy has been wonderful. I love the fact that I have to go on walks everyday, Hello Wedding Body!

Thinking: I have way to much to do in my classroom, but I don't want to leave the puppy!

Wanting: My fiance works full time from 2:30-11:00. So, I wish he would take the next month to hang out, but sadly that can't happen.

Needing: My new school is huge on AR, and we didn't use it at my old school so I need to label my books. I have been procrastinating this all summer.

B2s: 1. Coffee.. I don't want to walk up in the morning without it!
2. My poster markers! I love writing on posters and making anchor charts. Without good markers it would be hard!
3. Morning work! I love starting the day with morning work, and I would be lost without it!

Now it is your turn! :)

WRITE Banner Freebie

Happy Friday!

This weekend I get a lot of time to myself to work on things. My fiance is a best man in a wedding over Labor Day weekend, and the bachelor party is this weekend.  He is not a planner at all, which is the complete opposite of me, so I ended up doing a lot of the planning. As long as the boys don't find out we are good! ;) I have started to go through this cupboard that has housed all of my school things this summer. It keeps getting messier every time I go and dig for something. It started so nice and organized, and now look at it:

Soo.. I can't get the picture to load. I will try again later, but imagine a big pile of everything from your classroom in a small cupboard!

I just want it all out of there and put beautifully in my classroom, and since you probably can't tell underneath that top layer are boxes filled with things! So much stuff!

Thinking about my classroom, this morning I have been working on things for my classroom. My classroom theme is bright colors and polka dots. I just want it to be a cheerful place to be! I bought this set from the First Grade Fever to decorate my classroom, and I love it!

To match that I made this WRITE banner to hang over my writing center. I still need to laminate it, which means digging through my boxes to find my laminator, and add a cute ribbon. If you click the picture you can download the sign.

I hope you can find a place to hang it in your classroom. I am thinking about making some for Math, Reading, and maybe smaller versions for D5. Thoughts?

Wish me luck on the mess in my cupboard. I am just hoping I don't relax too much with the Future Mister out of town, and I get work done!

A New Adventure

Welcome to Kicking it in First!

This is my second attempt at blogging. Last year, I tried to start a blog and just couldn't keep up with it, with the stress of everything going on. I thought about just reviving that blog, but decided I needed a fresh start. Since the end of last school year, I have moved and now live with my fiance, we have gotten an adorable new puppy, his name is Kevin and he is a goldendoodle, and I have gotten a new job. The past two years I have taught second grade. I loved it, and had an amazing teaching partner, who I am going to miss tremendously! She helped get me through last year. The school I taught at last year was in Minneapolis. This year I am teaching in the middle of the country, so a complete change, and I couldn't be more excited for that. The big city wasn't for me.

At my new school, as you could probably figure, I will be teaching firsties! I am so excited! First grade is a grade I have wanted to teach since I started. I love the little ones. At my new school, I am lucky to have a few ipads to use in my classroom, and brand new reading curriculum. The school just made the switch to Journey's. The girls I will be working with are open to not just going based of the curriculum, and want to work together. I love collaborating among my teammates.

Besides teaching next year, I will also be coaching a brand new Dance Team at my school, and planning my wedding. We are getting married July 19th, 2014. It is finally less than a year away! On my other computer I have my color inspiration board, which I will have to share soon. I have a few freebies in the works, and a couple of units I have been working on that I can't wait to share.

Thanks for checking out my new blog and I hope you start following. Also, you can find the link to my instagram account up top, and I love to share pictures on there! I will leave you with a picture of my adorable little pup!
